Our Bali BBQ Veggie Stir Fry celebrates this abundance, showcasing the island's culinary heritage in a single dish. At its heart lies our signature Bali BBQ spice blend—a harmonious marriage of smoked paprika, warming nutmeg and cloves, and a dose of roasted coffee, a local crop. As the fragrant medley of vegetables sizzles in the pan, the aroma of these spices fills the air, inviting you to savor every mouthful of this plant-based delight. Paired with chewy noodles and a zesty gingery sauce, each bite offers a tantalizing glimpse into the enchanting flavors of Bali.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil 

  • 2 cups broccoli florets

  • 2 carrots, sliced on the bias

  • 1 large handful of green beans

  • 1 bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 Tbsp Piquant Post Bali BBQ

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1” ginger, grated

  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 4 scallions, sliced

  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch + 2 Tbsp cold water (whisk together)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 12 oz udon noodles

  • Garnish: lime wedges, chopped scallions

Notes

For added protein, you can add tempeh or tofu to the stir fry!

You can add cooked chickpeas, black beans, or lentils for protein as well.

Instructions

Heat the oil in a skillet and add the broccoli florets, carrots, green beans, bell pepper, Piquant Post Bali BBQ, garlic, and ginger. Cook for 5 mins. 

Add the soy sauce and brown sugar and stir well. Cook for 1-2 more mins. Add the water and cover with a lid. Simmer for about 4 more mins.  Add the scallions and cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Remove from the heat.

Cook the noodles according to package directions. 

Serve the stir-fried veggies over the udon noodles. Garnish with lime and chopped scallions. 

Alternatives & Substitutions

  • The vegetables in this recipe can be easily substituted based on your preference and availability. You can use cauliflower, cabbage, spinach, kale, or any other leafy greens or crunchy vegetables you like.

  • You can use fresh chopped chili peppers or red pepper flakes for heat.

  • Instead of noodles, you can serve this stir fry with quinoa, brown rice, or a different texture and flavor.

  • Besides cilantro and green onions, you can garnish the stir fry with chopped peanuts, sesame seeds, or fried shallots for added crunch and flavor.

  • Feel free to use any cooking oil you prefer, such as olive oil, coconut oil, or sesame oil, for sautéing the vegetables and tofu.
