Discover The Recipe

Looking to add more meatless recipes to your dinner lineup? Then give this Aloha BBQ Jackfruit recipe a try. Jackfruit is a very popular plant-based meat replacement that when harvested unripe, has a texture similar to pulled pork. In some recipes it can also be used as a replacement for beef in stews or shredded chicken. Green Jackfruit is mildly savory and has the ability to absorb any flavor that you add to it, thus making it a powerhouse in a plant-based kitchen. It also has fiber and protein and is low in carbs and sugar, making it a healthy meat alternative.

Our Aloha BBQ Jackfruit recipe gets its name and bold flavors from our proprietary Aloha BBQ Spice blend. This spice blend is perfect for creating your favorite Hawaiian BBQ dishes and Huli Huli-style grilled meats. Our chefs developed the blend with a meticulous combination of earthy notes like ginger and smoked paprika, savory and spicy notes like mustard seed, white sesame seed, cayenne and aromatic notes like onion, garlic, orange peel and lime peel. Use it as a dry rub or make a quick marinade for your favorite dishes.

For this Hawaiian-inspired Aloha BBQ Jackfruit recipe we start by pulsing the jackfruit in a food processor until it resembles the texture of pulled pork, which can also be done by chopping with a knife. Next, toss the shredded jackfruit with Aloha BBQ Spice blend, salt and tomato paste then roast in the oven for 15 minutes. Allow the jackfruit to slightly cool and serve with fragrant jasmine rice, sweet pineapple slices, fresh cilantro and lime juice.
